Program Outcomes: Evaluate ethical situations within a diverse workplace. 

This Essay helped me understand how workplace decisions can affect employees with diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. I examined the importance of communication, inclusion, stakeholder participation, and cultural awareness when organizations make changes. These skills can help me evaluate workplace situations more carefully and consider how decisions may affect different groups of employees. The PROF450 lecture explains that cultural intelligence involves recognizing and responding appropriately to cultural differences, and that inclusive workplaces should allow employees to have their voices heard. Earley and Mosakowski (2004) provide additional support for developing cultural intelligence when working across differences.

Program Outcome: Analyze the role businesses play in a high-tech global economy

This Report helped me better understand how businesses find opportunities by paying attention to what customers need and problems they are trying to solve. Through design thinking, I learned to consider problems from the customer's perspective and connect creativity, opportunity recognition, and innovation. These skills are important in a high-tech economy Because customer needs and expectations can change quickly. The PROF450 lecture also showed how important collaboration, adaptability, and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds. This project strengthened my understanding of how businesses can use innovation and collaboration to respond to an evolving business environment. 

This project helped me apply current business concepts to the process of developing and evaluating business ideas. I learned more about how entrepreneurs recognize opportunities, think about customer needs, consider availing resources, and determine whether an idea could realistically work as a business. These skills can be applied to changing business environments because organizations must continually adjust to customer needs, competition, technology, and other changes. The PROF450 lecture also discussed the importance of being adaptable and taking responsibility rather than simply waiting for instructions. Overall, this project helped me become more comfortable with looking at business problems and preparing to change workplace expectations.

Institutional Outcomes: Community and Career - Assess academic, life, and career situations that promote cultural sensitivity, global and economic awareness, and a sense of belonging.

This project helped me realize that doing well in the workplace involves more than just having the right technical skills. It helped me better understand the importance of communication, workplace culture, teamwork, and respecting the different backgrounds and perspectives of others. The PROF450 lecture explains that diverse workplaces require cultural intelligence and the ability to recognize and respond appropriately to different cultural cues. I believe these skills will help me communicate respectfully, build better relationships with coworkers, and be a positive part of an inclusive workplace as I continue to grow professionally.

Institutional Outcomes: Quantitative and Scientific Reasoning - Follow established methods of scientific inquiry and quantitative reasoning to form conclusions and make decisions. 

The PHIL310 project provided practice with logical reasoning and using established methods to examine information before forming conclusions. I learned how to recognize connections between information, look at evidence, and make decisions based on what I found instead of making assumptions. These abilities can be applied in business when reviewing data, comparing options, identifying problems, and making informed decisions. The PROF450 lecture also introduced problem-solving methods such as roots cause analysis, the 5 Whys, and Fishbone diagrams. These approaches demonstrate the importance of using an organized process to understand problems and identify appropriate solutions.

This project helped me improve my ability to look at information carefully, consider different options, and use logical reasoning before reaching conclusions. It required me to think carefully about how information was presented and evaluate whether conclusions were supported by evidence. These skills are important in the workplace because they can help with solving problems and making informed decisions. The PROF450 lecture also discusses reflection, feedback, and learning from challenges as ways to build confidence and resilience. Dweck’s (2006) growth mindset connects with this idea because abilities can develop through effort and learning. Overall, this project helped me become more comfortable looking at my own thinking, recognizing areas I can improve, and trying different approaches when needed.

Institutional Outcomes: Relational  Learning - Integrate new and prior knowledge, skills, and behaviors acquired through learning to engage in career, life, and academic pursuits. 

The following Portfolio allowed me to connect what I have learned throughout my degree to skills that I can use in an actual workplace. I was able to apply communication, teamwork, professionalism, problem-solving, and career development concepts to workplace situations. The PROF450 lecture explains that moving from being a student to becoming a professional involves taking more responsibilities and applying knowledge to real-world situations. Bridgstock (2009) also emphasizes career management skills as part of graduate employability. These skills will help me transfer my academic knowledge into future workplace responsibilities. 

Institutional Outcomes: Information Literacy and Communication - Utilize current technology and resources to identify a research need, locate and evaluate necessary and available information, and then use it appropriately to communicate findings in visual, written, or oral formats.

This project helped me improve my ability to research information, decide what sources were useful, organize my findings, and explain them in a clear and professional way. I learned how to use research to support my ideas instead of relying only on individual opinions. It also gave me more practice with writing and presenting information, which is important in the workplace. The PROF450 lecture explains that effective communication includes speaking, writing, listening, and adapting messages to the audience. These skills will help me share information, explain research, and present recommendations in a professional environment.
