My Bio: Devin Sloan

I am a dedicated, passionate and just finished my classes in order to receive my Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Human and Social Services at Bryant and Stratton College and will graduate June 1, 2024. With a strong commitment to serving communities and individuals in need, I am focused on acquiring the necessary skills and knowledge to make a significant impact in the field of social services. I have a deep interest in understanding human behavior and social interaction, which has led to the pursuit of this degree. The coursework, which includes subjects like psychology, sociology, and social work, has provided a comprehensive understanding of societal issues and the strategies to address them.

Upon completion of the AAS degree, I aim to work in a role that allows for the application of learned skills to real-world situations, with the goal of improving the lives of individuals and communities. I believe that the journey in the field of human and social services is a continuous learning process, and I am excited about the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.

Self-Improvement: I strive to improve personal skills such as communication, empathy, and problem-solving, which are crucial in the field of Human and Social Services. This can be achieved by reading relevant books, attending workshops, and practicing these skills in daily life.

Time Management: I can develop effective time management strategies to balance my academic responsibilities with my personal life. This can be achieved by creating a daily schedule, setting priorities, and using time management tools.

Health and Wellness: Maintaining a healthy lifestyle to manage stress and stay focused on academic goals. This can be achieved by regular exercise, a balanced diet, and adequate sleep.

Professional Goals:

Academic Excellence: Aiming for a high GPA to increase chances of securing a good job or further educational opportunities. This can be achieved by regular study, seeking help when needed, and effective time management.

Internship Experience: Gaining practical experience in the field of Human and Social Services by securing an internship. This can provide a real-world understanding of the field and enhance my resume.
Networking: Building a strong professional network within the field. This can be achieved by attending industry events, joining professional organizations, and connecting with professors and peers.

Career Preparation: Preparing for a career in Human and Social Services by researching potential job opportunities, understanding the skills and qualifications required, and tailoring my education to meet these needs.
